Field of Dinos in NJ

Been taking some time to get used to the phases in life, all my critterz are in school now and I spent most of the year split between two schools. I am happy to be on SUMMER BREAK and bloggin again. Really excited to let everyone know about our #DinoSummer. Dinos are all the rage these days, yes they have made a big comeback. My smallest critter, our Rebel.Girl.54 is Dino obsessed so we are feeding the monster with a #DinoSummer. 2019 is going back to the Jurassic time period.

Last weekend we got to experience one of the most Dino-rrific places in the tri state area. Field Station Dinosaurs has two locations we were hosted at the one closest to us, just a short 40 minute ride to NJ and we got to enter Jersey Field of Dinosaurs. This place if fun from the moment you get into the parking lot.

Before you enter you present your tickets to the staff member guarding the gate. (Got to keep the dinos contained right #JurassicPark). Crew member is in character as he/she prepares you to enter into the dinosaur adventure. Crew member gives you credentials in return for your tickets. This was my favorite part of the experience since I am all about games with challenges. The credentials is a little green book where your newly appointed paleontologist can collect stamps by completing Dino Size activities. I love a Challenge and incentive to complete tasks, it reminded me of Pokemon Go which we are still into.
Side Note It was a great place to play Pokemon Go too, we got to leave some of our Pokemon in a Yellow Gym so that was the icing on the cake.
The challenge of collecting stamps kept my critters excited for the day and eager to get their stamps and become a SUPER PALEONTOLOGIST.

Along with our credentials we were given a list of all the times of the shows and activities and we were off. We were able to get all our stamps and do almost all of the activities/shows. We were very blessed with a gorgeous day and each critter got a chance to be in a show. Our oldest, REC got to lick a real piece of dino poop. Middle guy, KEC flexed his muscles and broke wishbone, he won the wish too. Our little lady aka SUPER DINO LOVER was part of a T Rex experiment and survived. From digging for fossil (we got to take home) or learning about the dinos of today (aka our feathered flying friends) we had a fun filled day of learning, playing and hanging with some cool dinos.

Tips before you go:
1) When traveling with critters Bathrooms are important. They do have some readily available but it is a outdoor adventure so it is a big trailer bathroom. It was like something we had never seen before (pictured below) but it was very stinky I think the Dinos use them too. So if you are sensitive to smells bring a nose plug or a Avon Travel Spray to help with the smell.

2) There is a option to buy food but if your dino crew are picky omnivores bring your own lunch. I would definitely say pack your own drinks. They have soda, water, Gatorade but the only Juice was a Motts box juice and we all know how fast kids can drink those.
Menu prices were pretty good and good portions, extra fries to sneak to dinos.

3) To exit the Dino Adventure you have to walk through the "GIFT SHOP". I zoomed through advising my crew we will not be buying anything. Got to save money for those V Bucks. If you are interested the prices were not outrageous. T-Shirts were about $21.99 Hats for $9.99, etc. I did see a good investment a portable fan and spray bottle ($8.99). This would be useful for all of the hot summer days ahead.

4) Wear old sneaker or close toe sandals. The field is just that a big field all open so be ready for dirt, rocks and bugs. Dinos don't care what you wear they just want to see you smile or ROAR.

Hope your visit is as Dino-mite as ours was. Comment about your day below.
